I don’t know if all writers suffer this, I assume they do at one point or another, but I’ve hit a blog-lull, which I will henceforth refer to as a blull, which is about as ugly a word as I’ve seen lately, and which Microsoft Word takes great exception to. It usually just gives me a red underline for words it doesn’t like, but this one has set off sirens.
I’m hoping that writing this entry will jumpstart my writing again, because lately I’ve just hit a point where I’m busy enough doing things that I’m having a hard time finding the time to do the feet-on-the-desk-thinking-of-big-thoughts that gets me putting pen to paper, or in actuality, fingers on the keyboard. Part of the problem, I think, is that my recent entries about layoffs at big radio companies and the recording industry trying to get Congress to force radio stations to pay additional royalties took a lot out of me. Those two topics have usurped so much of my thinking lately that I’ve found it hard to give enough thought to anything to reach the critical mass necessary to blog about it. I mean, you have no idea how much thought went into my blog about hand dryers in public restrooms.
My blull (there are those sirens again) I guess is now officially over. I have a few topics in mind for upcoming entries, now I just have to sit back, put my feet up, and do some good solid ruminating. Wish me luck.
