My heart goes out to Eliot's family on the days, weeks and months ahead. It also goes out to his loyal staff at all of the radio stations and his long-time business partner, Robbie Norton. Robbie and Eliot have been extremely successful together and that kind of frienship only comes out of respect and loyalty.
Eliot has been a friend for a long time -not only to me, but so many others. We have discussed broadcast trends and scandals (!)...the Hawks and the Wartburg Knights. Our broadcast interests brought us together in several venues including the University of Iowa Journalism School Professional Advisory Board (PAB). Eliot was always the first to make certain broadcast was one of the topics at our meetings. Print was king in the 70's and 80's at the school and he was pleased to see that digital curriculum was finally starting to rise to the top of the meeting agendas. We missed him at our last meeting that took place in early December and will continue to miss his ideas, opinions and dream-weaving in the future.
Thanks for your leadership, Eliot.
