Horizons program will offer free financial counseling to flood impacted citizens
Those impacted by floods will have an additional resource to manage financial recovery. Due to funding from the United Way of Eastern Iowa and help from the City of Cedar Rapids , Horizons, a family service Alliance in Cedar Rapids , Iowa , will provide free Consumer Credit Counseling services to anyone who needs assistance pulling together a budget, maneuvering through FEMA and SBA paperwork or taking necessary steps to restore credit after the flooding.
"It's important for people to know that they don't have to face the financial difficulties caused by the flood alone. The goal of our professional credit counseling staff is to help you find the solutions to stabilize and improve your situation. Our staff has the skills to address mortgage, credit and general money management issues that are being experienced by those affected directly and indirectly by the flood. We all know people whose families and friends were touched by the flood, they should know help is available to help them through their crisis," states Scott Shook, Director, Horizons Consumer Credit Counseling Service.
