City of Cedar Rapids Public Works Department would like to invite area schools or daycares to participate in “Paint a Plow” and decorate a City plow blade, which will be used during winter snow removal. The Paint a Plow program allows children the opportunity to see a snow plow up close, paint the inside of the blade, and gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of snow removal operations. In celebration of the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth and of Herbert Hoover's love of Shakespeare, the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum presents A Shakespeare Christmas. The Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) is hosting an online auction of locally donated items to raise money for  those affected by domestic violence. Doors of Christmas Past, presented by Friends of Historic Preservation, is a walking tour to be enjoyed by the entire family.
