Events on your calendar may have been canceled, but summer isn’t!

Z102.9 is giving you tips all summer long to beat this Bummer Summer!

Enjoy some upcoming events/activities like:

  o  African American Museum of Iowa – This summer the African American Museum of Iowa partners with the Czech Village New Bohemia Main Street District and the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library to bring “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America” to Cedar Rapids. This Museum on Main traveling exhibit explores the history of American democracy from its inception in the 18th Century to more recent struggles to ensure that the ideals of this democracy can be realized for all Americans.  The exhibit runs through August 15.   o  Mount Trashmore open to mountain bikers and hikers – New visitors center to be a check-in site, offers bike maintenance stop and public restrooms.

  Coralville Public Library Resurrects the Coralville Drive-In Theatre – Join them the first three Fridays in August (7th, 14th, & 21st) at 8:30 pm for a blast from the past. They’re bringing back the Coralville Drive-In Theatre with movie nights in the parking lot! Just tune into 87.9 FM on your radio, and enjoy the movie from the comfort of your car.

  o   Virtual K9 Splash – Virtual K9Splash is Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each day, the organization will host Facebook Live events every half hour. Participants are asked to flood Facebook with pictures of their dogs enjoying water. Drawings for prizes will take place throughout the day. Suggested registration for the event is $15, but people are asked to donate what they can afford. Proceeds will benefit Cheyenne Off Leash Dog Area and K9 Acres in Cedar Rapids.   o   Rollin’ Recmobile – The City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation is bringing summer fun to your neighborhood wit the Rollin’ Recmobile! A van loaded to the top with recreation equipment and games that will be hitting 14 different parks 6 days a week. Click here to see the schedule!

  o   Fire Hydrant Water Play – The Cedar Rapids Fire Department will turn on fire hydrants for water play at Rollin’ Recmobile stops at Cherry Hill, Delaney and Bever Parks.  Click here to see the schedule!
