As part of their on-going mission to provide access to affordable spay/neuter services for companion animal owners in Eastern Iowa, Iowa Humane Alliance will host the second annual "Spay-Ghetti and No Balls" Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on October 4th, 2012, at the Old Brick event facility, 26 East Market Street, Iowa City, IA, 52245.
For a $20 donation ($10 for children 12 and under, 3 and under free), guests will be served a gourmet, all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner compliments of popular local Italian eatery, Zio Johno's Spaghetti House. The dinner will include salad, bread, dessert, and beverages. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available. Guests will receive a wine ticket for their first glass of wine. Additional glasses will be available for a small added donation.
The evening's festivities will include live music from The Strolling Accordion with Gino and Friends as well as an exclusive silent auction for dinner attendees. The evening will also mark the launch of IHA's two-week online "Auction for the Animals - Holiday Edition," featuring a wide range of unique items. Auction winners can take their purchases home that evening, or be the first to place their bids in the online auction which will run from October 4th until October 18th, 2012.
Iowa Humane Alliance will also have available for purchase a variety of humane awareness items including t-shirts, magnets and other holiday gift ideas, as well as IHA's popular "Wheel of Furtune" Dollar-a-Spin Spinner, where every spin wins a prize. A children's activities table will include animal mask-making and other fun crafts.
The "Spay-Ghetti and No Balls" Benefit Dinner is one of a number of coordinated local IHA events designed to raise funds for the planned Iowa Humane Alliance Regional Spay/Neuter Clinic. Once up and functioning, the clinic will serve 41 Eastern Iowa counties in a 100 mile radius of Cedar Rapids/Iowa City and will provide low-cost, high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter procedures for over 8,000 animals each year. This high volume of procedures will prevent the births of countless numbers of unwanted companion animals every year; animals that would otherwise contribute to the costly overcrowding in Eastern Iowa's cash-strapped shelters and rescues.
Iowa Humane Alliance is a Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor area nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ending companion animal over-population, shelter overcrowding and animal abuse in Iowa by increasing public access to affordable, quality spay/neuter services.
