Hear local music legends Dave Zollo and Craig Erickson, bid on cool bike memorabilia and gear, make an art bike and pose for a 2014 area bicyclists’ calendar 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, February 24. “Pedaling Power to the People!” is a benefit fundraiser for NewBo Bikes, Cedar Rapids’ first and only non-profit bike co-operative.
NewBo Bikes salvages and recycles bikes and parts, and offers many quality used bikes and parts for sale. All proceeds from the fundraiser and ongoing co-op activities go to promote health, safety, education and environmental awareness within our community.
The benefit is at NewBo City Market, at the corner of 12th Avenue and 3rd street SE in the Heart of New Bohemia, 1100 3rd Street SE | Cedar Rapids. Enjoy music, a silent auction, and art bikes. Bring your bike and have it turned into an art bike. Learn about co-op sponsorship levels and how you can get involved.
Wear your bike gear or a costume, bring your bike(s) and pose for a photo for the 2014 NewBo Bikes calendar! Bike babes, hub studs and spoke folks wanted! Bring your family and friends! Be a pin-up!
Don’t forget to go across the street and see the bike co-op storefront at 1029 3rd St. SE. The storefront will have an open house during the fundraiser.
Performance schedule is:
12:30-1:30 Dave Zollo
1:45-2:45 Craig Erickson
3:00-4:00 Dave Zollo and Craig Erickson: Together Again!
All day, get free information about NewBo Bikes and its activities and learn about levels of support. Bid on some very collectable bike memorabilia, souvenirs and gear at the NewBo Bike Collectors’ Silent Auction. Enjoy the ArtBikes Show and see some amazing custom creations. Like tricked-out bikes? Check-out these one-of-kind rides! Or bring your bike to have it painted.
