Recycle Swap Day
Saturday, May 4, 8:00 am to noon
This free, earth-friendly event in the City Hall parking lot at 1512 7 th Street keeps items out of
the landfill. Donate or trade clean, usable items or pick up items donated by others. Items left
at the end of the day are donated to non-profit organizations.

Clean out the garage, basement, or attic without filling up the landfill. Residents can give their
usable, but unwanted, goods a new home, pick up a treasure, and benefit the community and
the environment by donating or trading usable items as a form of recycling. All for free!

Participants should bring items that are in good condition and can choose from the items
donated by other residents. The event is free and treasure hunters are welcome, regardless of
donations to swap. Items will be sorted for reuse into the following categories as they arrive:

Books
Canned food for the Crisis Center
Clothing
Furniture and large appliances
Recyclable paper
Small appliances, household items, and toys
Items left at the end of the day will be donated to non-profit organizations. Take advantage of
this community opportunity to reduce, reuse, and recycle by giving a new home to unwanted
items. Call 319.248.1720 for more information.

Community Shred Event
Saturday, May 4, 10:00 am to noon
Help prevent identity theft! Bring up to two boxes of personal papers to the Coralville
Community Aquatic Center parking lot at 1513 7th Street (adjacent to the City Hall lot) to be
shredded on site by Heartland Shredding, courtesy of the Coralville Police Department.

Staff will provide Coralville residents with free on-site shredding of up to two boxes of personal
documents. Any type of paper, paper clips, staples, rubber bands, labels, and file tabs can
be put into the security containers, and residents can witness the on-site shredding via the
monitor located on the side of the mobile shredding trucks. After these confidential and
sensitive documents are shredded, 100% of the shredded material will be taken to recycling
centers and recycled into usable products including napkins, paper towels, toilet paper,
dispenser towels, facial tissue, and notebook paper. Call 319.248.1800 for more information.
