Come splash and join the fun on the Iowa River Sat. June 8th for the 4th Annual Great Iowa River Canoe and Kayak Race - with Company Challenge! Awards will be given to winners of canoe and kayak divisions and a Traveling Paddle Award for the Company Challenge. The 9 mile paddling race begins at Sturgis Ferry, Iowa City and ends at Hills Access, Hills, Iowa. In addition there will be a pancake breakfast provided by Hy-Vee during registration prior to the race. The race is a community building and fundraising event. Race organizers are Iowa Valley RC&D, Fin & Feather and the City of Iowa City. Funds will support the Iowa Valley RC&D in their work on behalf of conservation, watershed, local foods, scenic byways, tourism, and economic development projects. Register online at www.ivrcd.org. CHECK IN: 7:00-8:15 am at the Fin and Feather Parking Lot, Iowa City. (Pre-registered entrants must check-in to get a boat number). Race instructions at Sturgis Access start at 8:30 am
RACE STARTS AT: 9 am

AVERAGE TIME: 1 hour 30 Minutes, approximately
