Tanager Place’s Camp Tanager is seeking dynamic, motivated team players to serve in a variety of roles during the summer months. Positions allow counselors to spend every day in the sun, serve as a mentor for kids, and gain valuable work and professional experience.
Full Training is provided; experience working with children is preferred. Camp Tanager’s program focuses on fun and educational activities. Camp counselors play a big part in creating a safe, fun environment where campers live, laugh, and play during their stay.

Camp Tanager offers a unique summer camp experience for children who are medically or economically disadvantaged, and is Iowa’s only program to offer a free summer camp to at-risk children. Hemophilia Camp the only camp in the Midwest for children with hemophilia; and Diabetes Camp is one of only two camps in Iowa for children with diabetes. The camp empowers children to learn coping skills and tools to manage their medical condition effectively, and is run solely on community support and outside donations.
