Cedar Rapids, IA – Groups representing young professionals in Iowa’s Creative Corridor – ImpactCR and EPIC – have announced registration is now open for the Next Gen. Summit 2013 conference.  The Next Gen. Summit will once again focus on issues important to the now and next generation while providing valuable networking and social opportunities for attendees. This year the Summit committee is proud to announce that Kaplan University is the Presenting Sponsor.

The Next Gen. Summit will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1 at The Coralville Marriott, 300 East 9th St.   The event will kick off with opening remarks including entertainment, followed by a variety of workshops and panels for those living and working in the Creative Corridor.

 

Lunch will include a keynote address by Kim Lear of BridgeWorks. The afternoon will offer additional workshop experiences followed by closing remarks from David Gould from The University of Iowa and a post-conference social. Throughout the conference venue, attendees will experience “pockets of culture” with the assistance of Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance members.

 

As part of the multi-generational speaker team at BridgeWorks, LLC, the Next Gen Summit keynote  Kim Lear serves as the resident voice for her generation, the Millennials. Kim speaks to businesses and organizations  across the country on the topic of how to understand, attract and manage the wave of Millennials now entering the workforce.

 

In addition to the keynote address, the Next Gen. Summit workshops will address a variety of now and next gen topics, including professional presentation, career advancement strategy, best practices in management, social media, creative think, professional benefits of volunteerism and much more.

 

Registration is now available online and includes a complete list of conference workshop descriptions. Individual tickets are $100 for the conference and include the post-conference social. An optional lunch only ticket is $45. Scholarship applications are now available with a deadline of August 15.
