The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is offering special “A Swim and a Movie” nights at Cherry Hill Aquatic Center this summer. The giant movie screen will be set up in the parking lot next to the pool on three Sunday nights: July 14, July 28 and August 11. Only those who have paid for admission to the event will be allowed to enjoy the movie. Swimming begins at 7:00 p.m. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m.

The pool will open before and during the movie and will be cleared 30 minutes before the movie ends. The movies selected are rated PG and will appeal to a broad range of ages. They are (in order of appearance): Happy Feet 2, Soul Surfer and Dolphin Tale. Admission is $5.75 per person per movie or $1 per person with a season pass. The concession stand will be open and free popcorn is included with paid admission. Patrons are asked to bring lawn chairs to set up in the parking lot for the movie.
