The History Center Presents a Historic Walking Tour of Cedar Rapids’ Automobile Row Tuesday, August 6, 2013 Tour Begins at 6pm at the History Center
The Carl & Mary Koehler History Center is sponsoring a historic walking tour of the Cedar Rapids Automobile Row by historian Mark Stoffer Hunter on Tuesday, August 6 at 6:00pm. The tour leaves from the History Center and lasts 75 minutes. The cost will be $5 for children 8 and up, $6 for adult History Center members and $7 for adult non-members. The walking tour features fascinating stories of the colorful characters and cutthroat competition that populated the area of downtown Cedar Rapids known as “Automobile Row.” Stoffer Hunter makes the tour fun and informative. It is very popular with people of all ages. Bring comfortable walking shoes and enjoy the rich history of our town!
The Carl & Mary Koehler History Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00a.m. until 4:00 p.m. It is located at 615 First Ave SE in Cedar Rapids. There is no cost for general admission, but donations to support the mission of the History Center are encouraged. Special programs (such as the walking tours) may require a fee.
