The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is offering two bicycle workshops this fall. The first session (program #218101-01) of Bicycle Traffic Skills 101 will be held Tuesday, September 3 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 7 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Ambroz Recreation Center. The second session (program #218101-02) will be held Thursday, October 3 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 5 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Ambroz Recreation Center. Participants will gain the confidence and skills to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. In addition to preparing students with a full understanding of vehicular cycling, they will also learn how to do a bicycle safety check, fix a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. Participants are asked to bring their own bike and helmet.
