The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is offering computer camps during winter break at the Ambroz Recreation Center, 2000 Mount Vernon Road SE. Three high-quality, interactive camps for ages 10 to 17 years will be taught by Youth Tech Inc.

The Gaming Academy (#203902-01) meets December 26, 27, 30 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The academy is a combination of Video Game Design, Advanced Game Design and 3-D Game Design. Students will learn how to design and build their own games. The fee is $290 for residents and $298 for non-residents.

Video Game Design (#203904-01) meets December 26 and 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In this course, students learn the basics of video game design and produce several different interactive video games. The fee is $165 for residents and $173 for non-residents.

3-D Game Design (#203904-01) meets December 30 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This class gives students the opportunity to design professional 3-D games that both look and feel like the ones they play at home. The fee is $160 for residents and $168 for non-residents.
