Clare had an impromptu sushi date with her youngest and they had the best time together.
Here’s an easy resolution for 2026: support local arts and culture. In that spirit, Dancin’ Eric Hanson joined friends for a night of laughter and music at Modern Salon at Brucemore Friday night.
Dancin’ Eric Hanson is still dreaming of his 7 days at sea… but his trip ended in a nightmare. He’s grounded in Puerto Rico until he can fly back home.
Until then, the tranquility of the Caribbean.
Clare and the family checked out the newest bookstore and coffee shop in CR, I’ll Meet You There is in Czech Village. What are the odds they both found the next book in their series?!
Producer Ben gave his kitten Charles E. Cheese his first bath. Yes he hated it.
What’s the under the tree? Gifts to and from The Morning Scramble!
Producer Ben loves all of the Amana Colonies. He had his buddy John hand craft these beautiful wine bottle and glass holders. Amana-mazing!
Dancin’ Eric Hanson loves movies, so he spoiled Clare and Producer Ben with gift cards to the movies and some popcorn. It’s the return of The Morning Scramble Movie Club in January.
Clare gave the gift of reading to Ben and Eric. She picked up some romance novels–written by Iowa authors!
Clare celebrated 2 family Christmases. She was the official BINGO caller, but had some help from her cousin’s daughter (second cousin? first cousin once removed?). It was adorable!!
A perfect ending to the weekend for Dancin’ Eric Hanson … Sunday’s Orchestra Iowa matinee included a surprise Santa photo op!
The secret ingredient that both teams must include in their designs: Tiny Pickles!
Street Teamers Kate and Taye were teamed up to take on the task.
Morgan and Marci called their team, “Clutch and Peppermint Patty.”
Morgan and Marci quickly assembled their house, then got to work decorating.
Kate and Taye both have taken some art classes. Together they might have 1/2 an Art Degree, so they went a different way…
Time’s up! Did they pull it off?
Morgan and Marci created “Pickle Perfection.” Their pickle character, “Dillon,” was installing lights on the roof, but he fell off and is laying in the front yard.
They created a gingerbread scene called, “Pickle Party.” The pickles have gathered around a candy bonfire in the spirit of the hoidays.
First up, Clare and Eric tried merlot and cabernet sauvignon. The concoction LOOKED pretty.
The Merlot and the ice cream don’t go together at all. It was like the flavors were fighting. The cabernet was a little better, but still a no from both Clare and Eric.
She risked life and limb and a closed I-80 to sing for Iowa City! Dancin’ Eric Hanson was getting ready for the holidays at Hancher with “A Swingin’ Christmas” starring Jane Lynch, Kate Flannery and Tim Davis Saturday night.
Clare had a busy Girl Scout weekend! It started with Ice Skating on Friday night and then braving the snow on Saturday to catch the Iowa Women play.
Snickerdoodle Hershey’s Kisses are white chocolate with bits of snickerdoodle cookie right in the candy.
Clare liked them because they are warm and crunchy. But Eric thought the flavor was too caramel to be called Snickerdoodle.
Peppermint Stick flavored KitKats have red and green sprinkles right in the candy.
There was something about the peppermint flavor with the texture of a regular KitKat that didn’t work for Clare. But Eric loves all things peppermint, so this was a hit for him!
Hats off to the Twix people. Reese’s does holiday shapes and they end up looking like something you pick up while walking the dog. This snowman shaped Twix is adorable!
The shape is festive and the caramel to chocolate ratio is upped. Snowman Twix is a hit!
Clare found Grinch-themed Fortune Cookies at a candy store in the Mall of America.
Clare didn’t care for her fortune, but the cookie was yummy.
The snow de-railed Clare’s plans, but she managed to have some fun. She made a snow woman ❄️
Redwings hockey, Lions football, an Eminem cameo with Jack White, and a Hawkeye gamewatch all made for the best #sportsgiving this long holiday weekend!
