The soup has a baby food consistency, which was an ick factor for Destiny, but the flavor was pretty good. Plus she made it fancy with a crisped leaf of sage and pumpkin seeds on top.
Destiny’s go-to for fall is “Pumpkin Hot Chocolate.”
Clare and Eric were skeptical…they didn’t think pumpkin and chocolate went together, but one sip proved them wrong. Perfect fall beverage!
Eric had a miscommunication with his wife. He thought she would make his fall favorite, “Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie.” But she was busy, so Eric hit the kitchen and whipped it up himself!
Bourbon? Good. Chocolate? Good. Pecan pie? Good. This pie was delicious. Plus he served it was some homemade ice cream. Wowza!
Destiny finally had a weekend with zero plans. She spent most of it watching Netflix. But did a little cleaning and Milo refused to let her take the pillows to be washed.
Clare and the family went to the Renaissance Festival in the Amanas. The big highlight was the tiny pony rides!
Saturday was a great day to be a Hawkeye and be at Kinnick to watch it all unfold. Eric has never heard the stadium that loud!
Eric’s feeling at home in his “commode away from home” but he’d really love tons of people to take the pledge against distracted driving and spring him outta there!
Just a morning show live from a mall parking lot…with a guy in a porta potty. Typical Friday.
The Wapsi Valley Marching Band served as the Morning Scramble’s in-house band for the morning.
Doing our best to wipe out distracted driving!
The Washington High School Cheer Squad stopped by to share a cheer encouraging everyone to put down the phone when driving.
Eminem’s “Mom’s Spaghetti Sandwich” is just spaghetti in between two pieces of garlic bread. It tastes amazing! A great option if there’s no clean forks.
Destiny wanted to try a recipe she’s seen many times on ‘iCarly’. They eat their spaghetti on a taco shell. While we appreciate the crunch, there’s a little confusion in flavor. The corn shell fights the spaghetti.
Destiny and Eric thought there was waaaaay too little sauce on the sandwich and the taco. Come on Clare! Quit rinsing the spaghetti noodles and ruining the sauce!
Clare created the first recipe she found for ‘Skyline Chili’ and it was GROSS! There was unsweetened baking chocolate and cinnamon in the sauce. She did it wrong, right? Cuz that was nasty!
Clare landed on a recipe invented by a 5-year-old for “Chocolate Souffle Cupcakes.” He was mostly spot on with us guesses on ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs…but he also included a piece of white bread.
The recipe turned out pretty good! Very moist. Maybe the bread helped with that?
Eric is always seeing a few of his friends share super healthy or keto recipes and sure enough, that’s the recipe he landed on, “Spinach, Broccoli, and Mushroom Quiche.”
It had a very healthy taste. This thing was FULL of spinach. It was mostly greens and a little egg. Not bad, but the Scramblers would prefer a little less spinach and a lot more bacon.
Destiny landed on a recipe shared by a former creepy co-worker for “Dorito Casserole.”
So good! It’s hamburger cooked up with some onion, corn, and a can of Rotel. Dump it in a casserole dish and top with cheese and Doritos. Bake 5 min. It’s hearty and perfect for a fall tailgate.
Eric created 2 unique flavors of ice cream that fit Clare and Destiny’s personalitites.
Destiny’s flavor was a vanilla ice cream with oatmeal creme pie cookies. It’s a classic from childhood–just like our “Little Destiny.”
This was delicious! Maybe Eric could have given us some bigger chunks of oatmeal creme pie, but a solid ice cream flavor.
Clare based her ice cream off of “Strawberry Pretzel Salad.” It’s sweet and salty, but best of all, it’s considered a salad–so less calories, right?!
Forget the calories, this stuff is amazing! We need to scientifically engineer a pretzel that doesn’t get soggy, but after we figure that out, this stuff would fly off the shelves!
For his own signature ice cream flavor, Eric whipped up Caramel Bourbon Bacon ice cream. It had a softer consistency than the other ice creams, but that must be the booze. Consistency aside, great flavor!
