June 23rd is International Women in Engineering Day! We had the chance to meet with two kick-butt female engineers in our area, Emily Williamson and Nicole Loch! We chatted about their experiences getting into the engineering field, why it’s important to get girls involved in STEM careers, and how to navigate being woman in a male-dominated industry!
Happy Pride Month! We are gearing up for all the Pride Festivities coming to the Corridor this year and to give us the low down we have one of our favorite drag queens, Lexi Belle, and the queen of DJing pride, Lady J! Not only did they fill us in on what to expect for this year’s events, we chatted about WHY celebrating pride is important for our community and what it means to be involved!

We had the opportunity to talk to Jenni Livingston, the Mobile Crisis Program Coordinator at CommUnity Crisis Services in Iowa City. She gave us a lot of useful information on how to have open conversations about mental health, symptoms to watch out for, and resources to reach out to!

Erica Cole is a University of Iowa graduate and now founder AND CEO of the adaptable clothing line, No Limbits! She started off altering her own garments to fit over her prosthetic and it has snowballed into her pitching the company on Shark Tank! We chat with her about the glamorous and not-so glamorous parts of being an entrepreneur, how her business has also turned her to an advocate, and of course, does she still talk to Mark Cuban and Emma Grede?
